ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This qualification targets learners aged 19 and above, with no specific recommended prior learning requirements, although having achieved a Level 2 qualification may be beneficial. Centres are responsible for ensuring suitability based on learners’ age and ability. The qualification aims to be inclusive, with entry determined through a centre interview and assessment conducted on an individual basis. Individuals without formal qualifications but with substantial experience may also be considered, contingent upon an interview and demonstration of their ability to meet program requirements.

The Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is a Level 3 qualification containing 3 creditbearing units with a total of 15 credits for the qualification. These units have been designed from a learning time perspective and are expressed in terms of Total Qualification Time (TQT). TQT is an estimate of the total amount of time that could reasonably be expected to be required for a learner to achieve and demonstrate the achievement of the level of attainment necessary for the award of a Qualification. TQT includes undertaking each of the activities of Guided Learning, Directed Learning, and Invigilated Assessment.

Mandatory Units:

  • Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (03 credits)
  • Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (06 credits)
  • Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge, and Understanding (06 credits)

The assessments for all units are conducted through Practical Demonstration/Assignment-based evaluations rather than formal examinations with grading scales of Pass/Merit/Distinction. This vocational qualification facilitates learners’ career progression, in line with QUALIFI’s commitment to appropriate assessment methods. Assignments will contain a question strand for each of the given unit’s learning outcomes. The assignment tasks will address the LO (learning outcome) and AC (assessment criteria) requirements. Within assignments, there will always be requirements for learners to engage with the important and relevant theories that underpin the subject area. Tasks for each unit will reflect real-world work scenarios where feasible, necessitating learners to showcase their understanding of theories in practice, problem-solving abilities, and original thinking. Learners will be prompted to apply their knowledge to practical situations within organizations, with centers encouraged to provide case studies and research opportunities. Assessment will be portfolio-based, ensuring intellectual rigor commensurate with the qualification level.

This qualification is delivered through a blended learning approach, with the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) serving as the primary platform for course delivery. Upon enrollment, learners receive unique IDs and passwords to access the Canvas portal, where they can access course materials, participate in interactive learning activities, and submit assignments. This digital learning environment provides learners with the flexibility to engage with course content at their own pace and convenience while facilitating effective communication and collaboration with educators and peers. Utilizing Canvas LMS ensures seamless access to resources and support, enhancing the overall learning experience and enabling learners to excel in their academic journey.

The Qualifi Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is structured as a self-paced program, typically completed within an average timeframe of 4-6 months. This duration allows learners to progress through the curriculum at their convenience and speed, accommodating individual schedules and commitments. By offering this flexible learning approach, the qualification empowers learners to take control of their educational journey while maintaining a focus on academic advancement. This self-paced format enables individuals to balance their studies with personal and professional responsibilities, facilitating a rewarding learning experience.

  • Option (a): Pay AED 4050 (upfront) for a 10% bursary on the total fee.
  • Option (b): Pay AED 2275 (upfront) for a 5% bursary on the total fee with 1 installments of AED 2000.
  • Option (c): Pay AED 1500 (upfront) and then 2 monthly installments of AED 1500.
